The Friends of Wye Marsh is hosting a free, family-friendly event Saturday to celebrate Earth Day.
The jam-packed day features a wide range of workshops and activities happening at the Wye Marsh.
Things get started at Sainte-Marie Park for a Wye River cleanup from 9 to 10 a.m.
“Please bring gloves and wear long sleeve pants and a long-sleeved shirt,” the organization suggests. “ Get ready to get a little dirty!”
From 10 to 11 a.m., there will be a workshop sponsored by Meridian where participants will learn how to align their investments with their beliefs in an effort to create positive change.

From 11 am to 1 p.m., participants will get a chance to ‘recycle goodness in the garden’ by making pop bottle terrariums and planting seedlings.
Also at 11 a.m., there will be a rubber-boot hike through the marsh followed at 1 p.m. by a ‘wet n’ scaly presentation in the display hall where attendees will learn how climate change is impacting the marsh’s turtles. Then gather around an Indigenous storyteller to find out “how we are all living on Turtle Island."
At 2 p.m., participants will be able to make pollinator seed bombs and take some home for free.
Throughout the day, attendees can visit “our special guests in the display hall.”
While admission is free, donations are appreciated.
