Midland's Mary Graham, unsung heroine (4 photos)

Graham family matriarch 'a force to be reckoned with'

In our telling of “history” we often think of a pantheon of  greats, and visualize some man, but how about the woman’s side?

Take Frank Graham and we see, stretched out over many years, his dedication to the ideals forged during World War II.

Right alongside is his stalwart partner through thick and thin, Mary at every turn.

In the same way, Mary was involved in the Legion and again, we don’t always hear of her good works. Manning every post with the same fervour and loyalty as begets a bride who raised four boys.

All the Scots and Irish fervour and evangelism fully intact for the next generation.

Did I mention she warbled in St. Paul’s United Church choir for 70 years? That is a story for another time.

What a blessing to have Mary, but don’t call her old. Spry? Feisty?  Lively, even cooped up at Tiffin, we are certain she is a force to be reckoned with.

Happy Mothers Day!
