Two people have been rescued from Lake Simcoe in Ramara Township.

In a Twitter post late Thursday afternoon, OPP said emergency crews responded at about 3:50 p.m. to the report of “two occupants not wearing life-jackets on a Sea-Doo in distress” in the Bonnie Beach area.

One person was rescued by members of the public. The second was rescued with the help of Ramara firefighters and OPP aviation services and was taken to hospital “in unknown condition.”

Police said more information would be released when it became available.
