A tip to police from someone at an Orillia business has led to impaired driving charges against a Waubaushene man.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday, police received a call from someone at the business who suspected a man leaving the location was intoxicated, Orillia OPP stated in a news release.

Police located the vehicle and, after taking the driver to the Orillia OPP detachment, charged Kenneth Burns, 52, with operation while impaired and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).

His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded.

He was released on an appearance notice and will appear June 28 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
