Tay Township man charged after building materials reported stolen

The OPP located the materials, as well as a stolen rental vehicle

A Tay Township resident called the Ontario Provincial Police around 5:20 p.m. on March 25, after noticing a theft of building materials from his property on West Service Road, Tay Township. Officers were able to locate the stolen property, along with the suspect vehicle and driver nearby. Upon investigation, it was learned that the rental truck being used had also been reported stolen.

Charged is Jessie Allan Miron, 40 years old, of Tay Township with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

  • Theft under $5000
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada

The accused was released from custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on May 19, 2022.
