Suspects sought in Trans-Canada Trail assault

PENETANGUISHENE - Investigators from the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking assistance from the public after a Penetanguishene resident reported being assaulted on the Trans-Canada Trail between Scott and Owen Street around 10 p.m. on Saturday July 17, 2021.

The victim provided investigators with a description of the two suspects he fought off while walking along the trail as follows

  • First suspect: male, short, heavy build with short hair
  • Second suspect: male, six feet tall, long hair with possible facial injuries.

The OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their surroundings and personal safety at all times.
