Stolen rental car leads to three arrests in Midland

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment were dispatched at 10:24 p.m. May 5, 2020 to a report of a disturbance at a Frederick St. residence in the Town of Midland.

Attending officers entered into an investigation of a vehicle and a number of persons located at the scene and through investigation it was learned that the vehicle was stolen from a Collingwood area car rental agency.

Officers also located and seized a quantity of cocaine during the on-scene investigation.

Charged in connection to this investigation are the following persons:

Jonathan Penny, 28 years, of Wasaga Beach with:  

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 - in Canada

Contrary to the Criminal code of Canada
Who was held for a video bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.

Fabio Gagliardi, 37 years, of Wasaga Beach with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 - in Canada

Contrary to the Criminal code of Canada
Who was released from police custody on a release to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on July 23, 2020.

Ryan Leduc, 26 years, of Georgian Bay Township with: 

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act 

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Who was released from police custody on a release to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on July 9, 2020.
