On behalf of myself and the members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) we welcome Provincial Const. Elana Durtnall to the Community Safety Officer (CSO) program.

Const. Durtnall is a four-year member of the OPP and transferred to the detachment in February of 2021 from the Orillia detachment and was later designated as a CSO who has been serving the community at various community events.

As a lifelong resident of Tiny Township, Elana has been an active member of the North Simcoe community. She is a member of the North Simcoe Rotaract Club and has been a participant at various fundraising events and campaigns throughout the years. Elana is a former North Simcoe Capital and continues to play ball hockey here in town throughout the summer and never turns down the chance to lace up her skates.

"I pride myself in community policing and I am excited to give back to my community in my new role as an OPP Community Safety Officer," states Durtnall.

"I am very pleased and the community is very fortunate to have such an energetic and community minded officer to compliment the detachment CSO program," states Evans.

Durtnall can be reached at [email protected].
