Six face charges when suspected fentanyl, cocaine seized in Clearview Township

Three were from Penetanguishene, one was from Tay Township

Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) members attached to Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of members from the OPP Central Region Emergency Response Unit (ERT) arrested six persons on Feb. 19, 2021 as part of a continuing investigation into recent drug related incidents in North Simcoe.

Officers stopped a suspect vehicle with six persons on Fairgrounds Road in Clearview Township and as a result of this stop arrested the occupants and searched the vehicle. The search resulted in a seizure of 24 grams of fentanyl, 15.5 grams of crack cocaine, 25 grams of cocaine, .5 gram of methamphetamine, $735.00 in Canadian currency, an 8" knife and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of this investigation the following persons have been charged with offences in relation to this investigation.

1) Brandon John McCue, 36 years, of no fixed address has been charged with -

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine (two counts)

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court (two counts)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada
  • Resist peace officer

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was remanded into custody for a future bail hearing and later will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.

2) Tanner McCue, 23 years, of Penetanguishene has been charged with -

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was released on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on April 1, 2021.

3) Ashley Dawn Lecamp, 31 years, of Penetanguishene has been charged with -

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was released on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on April 1, 2021.

4) Taylor Dupuis, 25 years, of Penetanguishene has been charged with -

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was released on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on April 1, 2021.

5) Lindsey Pickett, 35 years, of Tay Township has been charged with -

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was remanded into custody for a future bail hearing and later will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.

6) Jesse John Adair, 30 years, of no fixed address has been charged with -

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)

Contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was released on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on April 1, 2021.
