Severn Township man facing impaired, stunt driving charges: OPP

A Severn man is facing multiple charges after allegedly speeding past OPP officers who were helping a tow truck operator on Highway 400 in Oro-Medonte Township.

A Severn Township man is facing multiple charges after allegedly speeding past OPP officers who were helping a tow-truck operator on Highway 400 in Oro-Medonte Township Sunday evening.

Officers from the Central Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team of the OPP were assisting a tow operator shortly after 6 p.m. on June 4, when officers observed a vehicle travelling more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.

The vehicle was stopped and officers entered into an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, Kole Clement, 32, from Severn Township has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Driving motor vehicle with open liquor
  • Stunt driving  
  • Drive motor vehicle without validated permit
  • Fail to comply with demand

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on June 20 to answer to the charges. Clement's driver's licence was suspended for 90 days, and thier vehicle was impounded for seven days.
