'Serious collision' shuts down County Road 6: OPP (update)

Southern Georgian Bay OPP are investigating a serious collision that occurred earlier today, forcing the closure of County Road. 6 in Tiny Township.

Update:
The lone occupant in the vehicle has died of injuries sustained in the crash.

He is identified as Jason Cowan, 47 years old of Tiny Township.

The investigation is ongoing, no charges have been laid.

Simcoe County Road 6 in Tiny Township has been reopened.

A serious collision has shut down County Road 6, say Southern Georgian Bay OPP.

Just after 4 a.m. today (June 12), the OPP was alerted to a vehicle in the ditch in the area of County Road 6 between Concession 14 and Concession 15 of Tiny Township.

One person has been transported to a local hospital by Simcoe County Paramedics.

The collision remains under investigation and the roadway will be closed for several hours, say police.
