PENETANGUISHENE — Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP and County of Simcoe Paramedic Services are currently at the scene of a two vehicle crash on Thompsons Road, Penetanguishene that they responded to at 8:13 a.m. Feb. 23, 2022. Investigators from the OPP Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting officers into the cause of the crash between a large commercial vehicle with two occupants and a passenger car with one occupant.
Motorists can expect Thompsons Road from Simcoe Circle to Robert Street East to be closed for a lengthy period of time today to allow for investigation and scene clean up.
The investigation is ongoing and further information will be provided when available.
Officers remind drivers to check Ontario511 or @511 @OPP_Comm_CR social media sites along with local radio for driving conditions and road closures.
