Search warrant leads to weapons charges in Penetanguishene (3 photos)

A 21-year-old is facing charges, including trafficking in firearm, weapon, device or ammunition

As part of an ongoing investigation officers from the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) attached to the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant at 1:03 p.m. Dec. 16, 2020 on Tay Point Road, Penetanguishene residence.

Officers seized a number of firearms including a 9 mm Glock 17 handgun and large supply of ammunition from the residence.

Investigators have charged Noah Philyp Tremblay, 21 years, of Midland with the following firearms related offences.

  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Trafficking in firearm, weapon, device or ammunition (three counts)

The accused has been released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 28, 2021.
