TAY TOWNSHIP - On Feb. 11, 2022 a resident of Calvert Street, Port McNicoll contacted the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a break, enter and theft that had occurred on Feb. 9, 2022 at the residence.
Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment attended the scene and began an investigation and through investigation, a suspect was identified and arrested on Feb. 14, 2022 in relation to this occurrence.
Charged is Derek Arthurs, 45 years of Port McNicoll, Tay Township with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
- Theft Under $5,000
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The accused was held for a virtual bail hearing and released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
