Police have issued a warrant for a Wasaga Beach man they say is dangerous and is wanted in connection to an attempted murder investigation.
According to Huronia West OPP, a victim was sexually assaulted and then stabbed in Stayner on July 31. Police received the 911 call just before midnight. The victim, a woman, was taken to hospital and air-lifted to a trauma centre.
Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Michael Zaakir, 31, from Wasaga Beach. He is to be charged with attempted murder, aggravated sexual assault, theft of a vehicle, uttering death threats and/or threats of harm, and failing to comply with a release order.
Anyone with information on Zaakir's whereabouts is urged by police not to approach him, but to call 911 immediately.
"He is considered dangerous," stated police.
