A report to the OPP Communications Centre at 10:40 p.m. May 17 of a vehicle theft from an Overhead Bridge Road business led to a vehicle stop on Simcoe County Road 93 and the arrest of the driver at 11:02 p.m.
Officers completed their investigation and have charged Jeffrey Bruce Tell, 45, of Penetanguishene with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Operation while prohibited
The accused was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
