OPP on the lookout for Tiny boozing beach-goers

Officers provided 10 hours of patrol at beaches and roadways leading to them laying numerous violation notices

TINY TOWNSHIP – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were out on Sunday July 19, 2020 conducting foot patrol for liquor infractions in the Cawaja, Wahnekewening and Balm Beaches in Tiny Township. The officers provided 10 hours of patrol in those areas and on the roadways to those beach areas making numerous contacts with the public and issuing offence notices for violations under the Liquor Licence Act for having open alcohol and under the Highway Traffic Act for speeding and noisy exhaust systems.

Beach goers are reminded to obey Tiny Township Bylaws, practice social distancing and take note that it is an offence under the Liquor Licence Act to have or consume alcoholic beverages on the beaches as well as any other public place.
