PENETANGUISHENE – Members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) attached to the Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment executed a residential search warrant at a residence located on Champlain Road in the Town of Penetanguishene on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020.
The search warrant was part of a continuing investigation into a break and enter investigation from Aug. 14, 2020 in the Town of Penetanguishene.
The CSCU officers were also assisted by detachment uniform members as well as OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP General Headquarters Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) officers in this investigation.
Charged with the following offences in relation to the search warrant investigation is Justin Sampson, 43 years, of Midland:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule III Substance
The accused was arrested by Durham Regional Police on August 27, 2020 and was returned to Southern Georgian Bay detachment remaining in custody to appear before the video bail court and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.
A 35-year-old female suspect of Penetanguishene remains to be located by police in regards to this investigation.
