Police seize cocaine, oxycodone after search warrant executed March 27

Drugs, currency and other items were seized at a Beausoleil Island residence March 27.

The Beausoleil First Nation detachment of the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) executed a search warrant on March 27 at a private residence located on the island.

As a result of this search, officers seized the following drugs and some stolen property.

  • Crack cocaine
  • Oxycodone
  • Cocaine
  • Stolen property
  • Scales
  • Canadian currency
  • Drug paraphernalia

The accused was identified as Gary King, 47, of Beausoleil First Nation. King was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Adult possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

The accused was arrested and released and is to attend court on May 12.
