Body discovered in Penetanguishene Bay

Death not believed to be suspicious, police say

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a death after the body of a male was located in Penetanguishene Bay.

On July 20, 2021, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers were dispatched to a marina on Fox Street in the Town of Penetanguishene after a man was located, unresponsive, in the water. Unfortunately, it was determined that the male was deceased.

The death is not believed to be suspicious and a post mortem examination will take place in the coming days. More information will be released as it becomes available.

The deceased has been identified as Robert Miziolek, 49 years of Etobicoke, Ontario.
