Arrest made in convenience store armed robbery investigation

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay detachment responded at 9:45 p.m. April 18, 2020 to a report of a robbery in progress at the Circle K Convenience Store on Midland Avenue in the Town of Midland. Responding officers secured the scene as the lone suspect had fled the store prior to their arrival.

Scene assistance was provided by members of the OPP Central Region Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and a OPP Central Region K-9 who searched the downtown area near the convenience store for a lone suspect.

Uniform officers through investigation identified the suspect and arrested on April 19, 2020 Jesse Pigeon, 32 years old of Tay Township for the following offence:
    •    Robbery with weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on June 25, 2020.
