Man, 25, found dead after vehicle entered Lake Ontario in Mississauga area

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Peel Regional Police say they're investigating after a 25-year-old man was found dead in a vehicle that ended up in Lake Ontario overnight. 

The force says officers and a marine unit responded to the Lakefront Promenade and Lakeshore Road East area in Mississauga, Ont., just after 3 a.m. on Thursday. 

Police say their dive team located the vehicle approximately two-and-a-half to three metres deep in the lake. 

They say one occupant managed to escape the vehicle when it entered the water.

Police say a second occupant, a 25-year-old man, was found dead in the vehicle after the dive team removed it from the water.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
