Obituary for Wendy Thompson,

written with love by Wendy's niece

                Sarah Jane Thompson

Wendy Joan Thompson, age 67, died peacefully at her home in Penetanguishene, ON, on Thursday, January 12th, 2023. Wendy was born May 8th, 1955, to the late Nora Kathleen Thompson (Jackson) and Alfred Burke Thompson II in Penetanguishene. She is survived by her siblings; Alfred Burke Thompson III (Mary Thompson), Susan Thompson, Nancy Gendron (Bob Gendron), Jennifer Beauchamp (Gerry Beauchamp), Nonie Thompson (Eugene Rea), and Andrew Thompson. It is bitter sweet that she now joins their late brother Matthew and her beloved Steve Abbott in heaven. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews who love her dearly.

Wendy was known for her love of pets. She always chose (or perhaps they chose her) animals who needed rescuing in more ways than one. She had the ability to love them unconditionally, flaws and all. When she wasn't home caring for her animals, you could find her playing horseshoes at the old Maple Valley Club, or catching up with friends at the Legion in Penetanguishene. Wendy was both a home body and the life of the party. We will all miss her sense of humor and infectious laugh.

Please come and celebrate Wendy with us at the Penetanguishene Legion on Saturday, February 25th from 1 to 4pm.

Donations in her memory can be made to the OSPCA. Contributions will be accepted at her Celebration of Life.

Arrangements entrusted to the Penetanguishene Funeral Home
