20220517 SIMONS Larry James

Peacefully passed away at Georgian Manor on Thursday, May 12th, 2022 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Shirley Simons. Loving father to Timothy Simons, Tammy Land (Rodney) and Tracey Bourgouin (Jason). Cherished grandfather of Holly, Larry, Megan, Hailey, Sierra, Brayden, Kyle, Joshua and Dylan. Fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. He was known to many for his work at the Boat Works (now Boat Club) where he started in 1957 as a young man and then went on to Georgian Bay Landing as a mechanic and taxi boat driver. In 1973 Larry and Shirley became the new owners of Honey Harbour Small Motors & Marina where they also ran a boat and scoot taxi service. When he wasn't working he loved making maple syrup in Franceville, fishing, snowmobiling and enjoyed the scenery wherever his adventures took him. Resting at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. with burial to follow at the St. James on-the-line cemetery, Penetang. We would like to thank the staff at Georgian Manor for all their help, support and understanding. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or Georgian Manor would be appreciated by the family.
