RANKIN, Patricia Margaret (nee Ellery)

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Georgian Bay Senior’s Lodge on Saturday, January 15th 2022.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Eric William Rankin, in 2003. Born in Midland on August 17th, 1939, Patricia was in her 83rd year. She was the beloved mother of Joe (Mary Ann) of Penetanguishene, Jim (Robert) of Toronto, Tom (Susan) of Penetanguishene, and Keith (Ruth) of Barrie. She was the loving grandmother of Matthew, Erin, Patrick, Alyson, Jonathan, and Taryn. She was also the beloved second child of Elizabeth and Herman Ellery, and Sister of the late Leonard Ellery (Vivian) of Timmins, and Vincent Ellery (Gail) of Toronto. She was a dedicated Registered Practical Nurse at Huronia District Hospital (now GBGH) for over 30 years. She was also a long-time member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Midland.

The family will receive friends at the Carson Funeral Home 290 First Street, Midland Ontario on Wednesday, January 19th from 5-8pm. A private, in-person family funeral service will be held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Midland on Thursday, January 20th, 2022 at 2:30pm due to provincial gathering restrictions. Those who wish to attend virtually can visit the St. Margaret’s Catholic Church website for more information. Memorial Donations to the Arthritis Society or the Heart & Stroke Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
