It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Edward A. Light “Ted”, on Tuesday January 11th, 2022 at the Georgian Manor in Penetanguishene. He was a bright spark to many who knew him, always there to help anyone in a time of need. Ted was truly a man everyone could count on! His devotion to the Penetanguishene Fire Department and his influence for training and equipment for his team was a labor of love. His love of music, his Music Makers Band was his real passion; his clarinet & saxophone were tireless and beautiful.

His career in building the family business ‘Ted Light’s TV’ that he started at a very young age was a dream that came true with the support of everyone in town. His commitment to his wife and children are held on the highest pedestal. His gentle soul, infectious smile, and twinkle in his eyes will live on in our memories and in our hearts forever. We are comforted in knowing that he is now reunited with his wife Marie Light (nee Garraway) who passed away August 3, 2016. Loving father of Tony (Debby), Karen Whyte (Bill), Kim Bellehumeur (Pierre), David (Mandy) and Sharon Light (Chris Flynn). Cherished grandfather of Candice Hanmore (Mark), late Evan, Cole, Emily, Joseph, Zelia, Sophia, Connor, Jacob and great grandfather of Calum and Averie. Dear brother of Francis Light (Theresa), Betty Fitzgerald (late Don), Gerry Light (Dawna), Patricia McNamara (Tom), and predeceased by Marie Desrochers (Joseph), Louis Light, Eva Lortie (Lionel), Peter Light (Muriel), Estelle MacInnis (Ken), Felicia Light, Henry Light (June), and Herman Lalumiere (survived by Rita).

Son of the late Aime and Bertha Light (Lalumiere). We are grateful for such wonderful parents and we miss you both dearly. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. We Love you Dad. The family wishes to thank the Willow Unit staff at the Georgian Manor for his exceptional care. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when COVID restrictions are lifted. Details to follow. Donations can be made to the Music Program at Georgian Bay District Secondary School.
