“Neil” Mason Larry Doyle Hale

Was born on March 31, 1938, and passed into heaven on June 24, 2022, into the presence of God His Heavenly Father, and Jesus, His Saviour, and to join his beloved sweetheart Leslie Judith Hale (nee Dean).

He is lovingly remembered by his sons and their wives: Chris and Rhonda Hale (nee Brown) of Marietta, Georgia, U.S.A., and Michael and Deirdre Hale (nee Loney), of Penetanguishene, Ontario. (Daughter: Marcia Lynn “Marcy” Hale; passed into Heaven September 2001).

He is also dearly remembered by his Beloved Grandchildrien: Joshua Hale of Florida, U.S.A., and Ansley Hale of Marietta, Georgia, U.S.A., and Matthew and Rebecca Hale (nee Dorian) of Midland, Ontario, and Timothy Hale of Penetanguishene, Ontario.

As well, remembered by his dear siblings Max and Ann Hale of Barrie, Ontario, and Eric and Faye Hale of Newfoundland.

After battling a sudden illness; Neil was called home to heaven by God, his Heavenly Father.

Neil was born in Newstead, Newfoundland, and grew up there during his years as a young boy; and the “Newfies” were forever special to him. He then travelled out west to live in Alberta, and then moved to Toronto to start his career in the battery business. While vacationing up in Wasaga Beach, he met Leslie at the Woodland Beach Dancehall.

After marrying, they moved to the United States for Neil’s work; living in California, Indiana, and Pennsylvania, before returning home to settle in Erin, Ontario, where they lived many years raising their children.

Neil and Leslie enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving for many years at their home in Erin.
Neil was a driven career man who worked his way from serving as a coffee boy all the way up to General Manager in charge of North America, and then he retired and spent his days golfing, and travelling to Venice, Florida, with Leslie.

Neil and Leslie then moved to Wasaga Beach, and then onto the Barrie and Midhurst area for several years. Following Leslie‘s passing Neil moved into the Bayfield House in Penetanguishene; located on the beautiful waterfront where he finally achieved his dream of living across from the water.

Neil loved to golf at the Orr Lake Golf Club, or meet up with friends at The Wilds Golf Club in Barrie, Ontario. As well, he loved going for long walks, and was a huge Toronto Maple Leafs, and Toronto Blue Jays fan! Each night you could find him in front of the TV watching a game with his chips and can of Coke in his hand.

Neil loved Jesus, and his family finds great comfort in the knowledge that He is now in heaven rejoicing in the presence of His God and Saviour: Jesus Christ, and he has been reunited with his sweetheart, Leslie, and his daughter: Marcy.

The family wishes to thank the entire team of Bayfield House, Penetanguishene; for their incredible care of Neil, as well as all of the Nurses and Doctors at Georgian Bay General Hospital who cared for Neil.
In memory of Neil, Donations can be made to The Salvation Army of Barrie, Ontario.

“But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV)
