Born Anita Hamelin, to Elda and Jim Hamelin in Penetang, Dec 25/1928. Predeceased by siblings Willard (Eva) Hamelin, Vivian (Bob) Magnus, Ken Hamelin and adopted brother Richard Hamelin. Predeceased by first husband Jerry Hill and second husband Len Gravelle. She leaves behind her only child Jim (Kathy) Hill and beloved granddaughters Amy and Stephanie Hill, her sister-in-law Anita Lamoureux, nieces and nephews.
Mme Hill taught 3 generations of elementary students in Penetang, spanning 36 years and her retirement was enjoyed with volunteering at St Vincent de Paul food bank, knitting for her friends and charity and travelling the world on her 24 trips. She took pride in being a devout Catholic, parent and wonderful grandmother. She felt blessed with good health, friends and family.
Thank you to the nurses, doctors, PSWs and volunteers at Midland Hospital and to the staff of Georgian Village where she lived for 8 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, Penetang would be appreciated by the family.
Friends will be received at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 12 noon until-1 p.m. Memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 1p.m. followed by interment at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery.
