Mary M. Graham in her 98th year, has passed away after a brief illness. Mary was a daughter, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; an aunt and grand-aunt and great grand aunt. Mom was the daughter of Bridget Elizabeth O’Neill and William Edward Pettit, a sister to Bertha, Clifford, Percy, and Chester. A sister-in-law to Loretta, Ross and Marnie (Blondie), Carl and Gloria. A wife to Frank Edward Graham (Dec’d 2018). A mother to Chester Frank (Janice), Lloyd Edward (Claire), Frederick John (Betty Anne), Brent Michael and Brenda Marlene (Dec’d 1961). A grandmother to Tyler Edward (Nadine), Amy Burton-Graham (Clifford) Christopher Graham (Jessica) Kerry Ann Graham (Adam), Amber Graham, Victoria Graham, David Graham (Dec’d 1983), Michael (Meagan) and, Matthew (Jill). A loving great grandmother to Ayla Murphy, Hailey Graham, Kayleigh Tobey, Korah Murphy, Simon Graham, Cohen Graham, Lucy Graham, Anderson Graham, Oaklen Graham, Kendyl Burton and Alvey Graham. Numerous O’Neill, Pettit, Coulter, Graham and Fowler cousins, nieces, and nephews; Bancroft, Woodstock, Calgary, Aurora, and Corner Brook. Mary was very involved in her Midland community… A member of the I.O.D.E (Rebekah’s) for 69 plus years, the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 80) Women’s Auxiliary for 50 years, St. Paul’s United Church congregation for 70 years and their choir for 66 years. Mary was a 16-year member of the Sew Sisters/Tiny Stitches. She sold tickets and chaperoned Midland Teen Town dances as well as tickets to the Midland Indians baseball games. She loved to dance. Mary loved to dance especially with her brother Percy and at the Legion. Mary was a member of the Midland Curling Club and the Topperettes Bowling League. All while raising the four boys and over time, both mothers lived with the family. Mary (and Frank) loved to travel. Destinations included the east and west coasts of Canada, Cold Lake Alberta, all over Ontario, Florida and California, Germany and especially the Netherlands. A life well lived. We would like to express our deep appreciation to St. Paul’s United Church minister, Karen Ptolemy-Stam and organist, Victoria Warwick, and the volunteers too. Sincere gratitude to the Doctors and nurses at Georgian Bay General Hospital and the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. A huge shout out to the management and staff at Tiffin House who showed excellent service to Mary (and Frank); a special thanks to Shirley White, who made sure Mary never missed a bus.

Visitation will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave., Midland on Tuesday, January 24th, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 25th at St. Paul's United Church, 308 King St. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Paul’s United Church or the Royal Canadian Legion Br.80 Ladies Auxiliary will be appreciated by the family. The family has requested that all visitors and family members wear masks.
