It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother Wendy Nora Gates. Wendy passed on September 18, 2022 at GBGH with her family by her side at the age of 63.
Loving Mother to Shannon (Derek) and Sarah (Chris). Extremely proud Granny and Gigi to Noah, Norah and Jack.
Predeceased by her parents Margaret Piche (nee Munley) and John Gates.
She will be fondly missed by her Sister Betty (Paul) and her Brothers Brian (Sue) and Wayne (Marg). As well as Cousins Sandra (Dave) and Brenda (Bernie).
Deeply loved and forever remembered by her many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
You could always find Wendy with a smile on her face and a Pepsi in her hand. She would always find a way to take care of anyone who needed it. Her heart was so big, and she would give anything to anyone even if it meant she went without. She was special to all that knew her. She had an incredible quality of making anyone she met feel comfortable and at home when with her.
Her bond with animals was extraordinary. They say animals sense the nature and kindness of a person so it is no surprise that any animal that crossed her path would gravitate towards her and immediately fall in love. For this reason, if desired, donations can be made to the Midland OSPCA.
We would also like to send a very heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff in 2E at GBGH. Emilie, Jade, Melissa and Alannah, your care, compassion and support not only towards our Mom but to her family as well was very comforting during such a devastating time.
