It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Raymond (Joseph) Carriere. He passed away peacefully with family by his side, at Georgian Bay General Hospital on Thursday January 26, 2023, in his 77th year.

He is now at rest with his loving soulmate Edith May Gendron.

He will be greatly missed by his loving children, Joey Carriere, Nancy Carriere (Gary), Tammy Maurice (Geoff). He was a devoted grandfather to Jordan (Jessica), Rebecca (Kyle), Geoffrey (Sydney), Kayla (Trevor) and Brooke, a cherished son to Delina Carriere, and beloved brother to Mary Ruth Pilon (Peter) with whom he was reunited with after 63 years of being separated.

Ray was a very active member of his community. He was a life-long member of the Victoria Harbour Lions Club, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion Sunset Post Branch 523. Ray was a Parks and Rec member for many years where he ran the concession booth at Oakwood and Sunset Park with great pride and joy. He also spent time supervising the youth dances for many years. Ray was known for his endless amount of generosity, selflessness and great sense of humour.  He will be sadly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him, but his joy and spirt will carry on through each one of us.

Please join us in celebrating Ray on March 4th at Oakwood Community Center, 290 Park St, Victoria Harbour from 12-6 with service at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lions foundation of Canada.
