1940 - 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Richard Bowers, who passed away peacefully on February 24,2021 surrounded by his love and daughters after a brief battle with cancer. He will be forever loved and remembered by his family, Sandy (Bill, Kipley & Cohen), Jennifer (Paolo, Madison & Katherine), Scott (Carla, Tessa & Jamie), Kathy (Rick, Alex & Greg) and his love, Joyce (and family).
After enjoying a successful career in the office furnishings business, Rick fulfilled his dream of retiring in the Georgian Bay area. He appreciated the solace of nature, playing golf with his family and friends and filled his days with home projects, making his properties “tickety-boo”.
Rick will be missed by his long-time friends (Bill & Jimmy), many close neighbors and wonderful new friends made through the Midland Askennonia Senior Centre.
No services will take place at Rick’s request. The family wish to thank the staff of 1-North at Georgian Bay General Hospital for their care and compassion during a difficult time. In honour of his memory, memorial donations to the Palliative Care Unit of GBGH would be appreciated by his family.
Until our paths cross again, there is comfort in knowing you left us with a full heart and have gone out for a walk with your beloved dogs.
