The Barrie Colts have traded veteran defenceman Ian Lemieux to the Kingston Frontenacs for a draft pick.
In exchange for the Midland native, the Colts receive Kingston's sixth-round pick in 2026.
“You couldn’t ask for a better teammate than what Ian has been since he first joined our team," Barrie head coach and general manager Marty Williamson said in a news release. "We would like to thank Ian for all his contributions to our team and for all the time he has spent within our community here in Barrie."
Lemieux, 20, is in his fourth Ontario Hockey League season following two years with the Saginaw Spirit. During his time with the Colts, he scored six goals and added 23 assists in 122 regular-season games.
The trade comes one day after the Colts acquired forward Tyler Savard from the Soo Greyhounds.
