An area woman might want to buy a lottery ticket.
While visiting Balm Beach earlier this week, a large tree tumbled to the ground near the woman. Luckily, she was not hit.
Darren Martin, platoon operations supervisor with the county’s paramedic services, said that paramedics responded to the Tiny Township locale at about 2 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 call that an individual had been struck by a falling tree.
“Upon arrival, crew confirmed a tree had fallen, though (it) had not landed directly on the individual,” Martin told MidlandToday.
“A female patient was transported to hospital with minor injuries.”
Martin didn't specify whether the woman's injuries were related to shock at being close to the fallen tree or whether she bumped into something trying to get out of its path.
