Tiny Township wants to hear from residents as it prepares to launch a new zoning bylaw.

To that end, the municipality has created a survey to obtain public input on a range of general and specific zoning issues designed to help guide the preparation of the new zoning bylaw.

The deadline to respond is July 9 at 4:30 p.m. Any questions or comments regarding the new zoning bylaw survey can be directed to [email protected].

As well, the township offices and services are now being offered again, albeit with varying schedules and rules to ensure the safety of staff, residents and contractors.

Face coverings must be worn at all times in the municipal offices and only four members of the public are permitted in the front lobby at one time, provided they are at different service desks. All other individuals must wait in line outside of the building. Residents are encouraged to use online resources whenever possible.

Before entering the office, residents will be greeted by a staff member who will ensure proper protocols are being followed and will ask for your name and phone number for contact tracing purposes.

Building department staff, however, will continue to predominantly operate under a remote work protocol. All meetings with the public will continue to be encouraged to take place via virtual means and by appointment only.

Building permit applications will be accepted and processed after a virtual or in-person meeting has taken place. Please call (705) 527-9789 or e-mail  [email protected] to book your meeting, where further instructions will be given on our process during this time.

In order to process an application, it must be deemed complete, to ensure completion please follow the requirement on the first page of the application.

As for building inspections, 48 hours notice is required and two-metre social distancing will be maintained at all times. Interior inspection of a non-occupied space requires that only one person is permitted in the building with the inspector during the inspection. COVID-19 pre-screening must also be completed beforehand.

Planning and development staff also continue to predominantly operate under a remote work protocol. All meetings with the public will continue to be encouraged to take place via virtual means or by appointment only.

Sewage system permit applications are being accepted in-person at the municipal office, through the municipal office drop box or by mail. To process an application, it must be deemed complete.

Sewage system inspections, meanwhile, follow the same protocols as building inspections with regards to distancing and number of people who can be with the inspector.

"All procedures put in place have been done so to limit unnecessary risk to township  staff and our residents," the township noted. "As this situation is continually evolving, we will continue to  monitor our processes and notification will be provided on any change to the above noted temporary service levels."
