Penetanguishene is advising residents and motorists that a retaining wall replacement project will start next week.

The project will involve the removal of the existing retaining wall that fronts onto Robert Street East, immediately adjacent to Lucy Street, and the installation of a new retaining wall.

The project is expected to take two weeks to complete and will involve the installation of temporary traffic control measures that will reduce Robert Street East to one lane during construction. The full closure of Lucy Street at the Robert Street East intersection will also be required to ensure the safety of the construction site, pedestrians and vehicular traffic. Detours will be put in place to assist with alternate routes.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the Public Works Department at 549-7992.
