The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating a fire Tuesday evening in Midland.

While a cause has yet to be determined, Midland Deputy Fire Chief Gord Roesch said an occupant of the building at 1071 Vinden Street was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

"The reason the Fire Marshal is investigating is because of the injuries to the occupant," said Roesch, who didn't identify a possible cause for the blaze.

Roesch said the fire was contained to one unit in the multi-unit building.

"Firefighters from Midland, Penetanguishene and Tiny responded," he said, noting no firefighters were injured fighting the blaze.

"We estimate the loss at about $350,000."
