A mock emergency will take place Thursday at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) and Georgian College.

The annual emergency preparedness exercise, happening from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is called Code Green and will see “patients” — played by Georgian College students — evacuated from RVH to the college.

The evacuation will begin at RVH’s Georgian entrance. Students will travel along Georgian Drive to the Georgian College Athletic and Fitness Centre.

Community partners also taking part in the exercise include the City of Barrie, Barrie Police Service, County of Simcoe, County of Simcoe Paramedic Services, Canadian Red Cross, Georgian Bay Search and Rescue, St. John Ambulance, and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
