GBDSS art installation pays homage to Red Dress Day

1 / 1 GBDSS staff and students created this installation in honour of Red Dress Day and to raise awareness about Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People. Students learned about MMIW and wrote something they learned, or a positive message of solidarity on red hearts, dresses and butterflies. Over the week, the 'empty' form of the dress became filled in brilliant red. Visual arts teacher Kristen Keller and Indigenous graduation coach Aimee Grenier spearheaded the initiative.Courtesy Betony Main
