The following is a running list of events, businesses and organizations that have announced cancellations, closures or postponements due to COVID-19. If you would like your notice added to this list, please contact [email protected]. Additionally, please refer to the Government of Ontario COVID-19 page for information.

Effective Friday, March 20, all Georgian campuses will remain closed to students until further notice. All programs move to remote delivery starting Monday, March 23. Students should check Blackboard for instructions.

Tay Township Municipal Office is now closed to the public.

The Midland Cultural Centre is closed and all scheduled events until April 4th have been postponed.

Effective 4:30 p.m. on March 17, 2020, the following services and facilities in the County of Simcoe are being closed to the public until further notice: ·       

  •  Simcoe County Library Co-operative       
  •  Simcoe County Archives        
  •  Simcoe County Museum       
  •  Tourism Simcoe County Information Kiosk        
  • County Administration Centre – including the Service Simcoe Desk (phone lines and other means of contact remain open)        
  • County of Simcoe Landfills and Transfer Stations – closed to the public. (Industrial, Commercial and Institutional customers who have no alternative disposal options are encouraged to contact Service Simcoe at [email protected] or 1-800-263-3199)       
  • All county events and gatherings, including in-person Council and Committees are cancelled for March and into April

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 80 Midland will be closed until further notice.

Cineplex closes theatres, including Midland's Galaxy location, until April 2.

Ricks Driving School is closed until further notice for in-class lessons.

GoodLife Fitness and Fit4Less are closing all locations across Canada until further notice.

Quest Art School + Gallery closed until April 6.

Effective immediately through to April 5, 2020, Huronia Historical Parks’ facilities of Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, and Discovery Harbour, will be closed.

Mount St. Louis Moonstone closed for season after Sunday night (March 15)

St. Paul's United Church has cancelled all events and services until further notice. Please join the community online at 10 a.m. Sunday for a church service livestream here.

Penetanguishene Public Library, Centennial Museum and Penetanguishene Memorial Community Centre & Arena all closed.  All programming and rentals are cancelled. Full refunds will be issued.

March Break Camps and fitness programs cancelled in Penetanguishene. Full refunds will be issued.

The Friends of Wye Marsh board has cancelled Sweetwater Harvest Festival on March 28 & 29. This is a precautionary action with the best interests of our volunteers, patrons, staff and vendors at the festival in mind.

Midland Public Library closed until at least April 6.

Askennonia Senior Centre closed until at least April 6.

The North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre closed for three weeks. with an update provided prior to April 6.

Boys & Girls Club of North Simcoe is closed from March 14th until at least April 3, with all March Break Camps cancelled next week.

 The King Street Rejuvenation Phase 2 Pre-Construction Open House scheduled for Thursday, March 19 has been postponed until further notice. 

Tay Township is closing all recreation facilities and cancelling all recreation programs and facility rentals until further notice.

Tay Township Public Library closed until further notice.

Tiny Township closing all community centres and cancelling all rentals and programming until further notice.

Tiny's March Break Day Camp (March 16-20, 2020) cancelled. Full refunds will be issued.

Seniors’ Club Open House at Le Club de l’Age d’Or (March 18, 2020) postponed.

Tiny Senior Symposium (April 1, 2020) postponed.

The Huronia Community Foundation has decided to cancel its 20th Anniversary event March 25 at the Midland Public Library.

All publicly funded schools will be closed for two weeks following March break. 

The Ontario Hockey League has suspended its season until further notice. 

Georgian College's VR Hackathon scheduled for Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 at the Barrie campus has been postponed until the fall. This event wasn’t open to the public, but college officials wanted to let people know. 

The Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons concerts scheduled for Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22 at Casino Rama Resort have been postponed.

The Georgian College officials announced today that they have cancelled this weekend's powwow at the Barrie campus due to concerns over COVID-19.

Cineplex is asking that "anyone who is feeling unwell refrain from visiting" its theatres.

The National Hockey League announced this afternoon that it has postponed the the 2019-20 season, beginning with games scheduled for Thursday night following the decision of other major sports leagues, including the NBA, MLS, NLL and MLB.
