The Canadian Press reports that Dr. David Williams, the province’s top medical officer, is recommending that bars and restaurants should close except for take-out and delivery.

The news comes as Restaurant Brands International Inc. announced today that it is closing all dining room seating at Tim Hortons locations across the country as of Tuesday to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Williams has also recommended the closure of all daycares, private schools and all places of worship close. The government has already announced that public schools will close for an additional two weeks following the March Break.

Federal and provincial officials are both recommending the people not gather in groups larger than 50. Health experts are recommending people practise social distancing to lessen the risk of COVID-19 spreading.
