If you’re looking for a reason to get out and celebrate the festival lifestyle this weekend, Penetanguishene has got you covered.
All Things Canadian is a three-day event, from Friday through Sunday, which celebrates the heritage and cultures of Penetanguishene’s history. Francophone, Indigenous and anglophone communities will be showcased through live music performances, food, entertainment and activities.
ALL WEEKEND
At Memorial Park, 121 Main Street, a free outdoor skate will be available all weekend through the Glice Artificial Ice Rink in partnership with the Penetanguishene Lions Club. Each of the 45-minute time slots will allow groups of eight to skate, but registration is required for each individual. Pre-registration is encouraged, and masks may be required if two metres of physical distancing is not possible with people outside of one’s own household.
FRIDAY
The Chippewa Travellers & Kiiwedin Dancers will be performing live at the amphitheatre at Rotary Champlain Wendat Park, with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. and a start time of 7 p.m. Registration is required for seating within the theatre, and arriving early is encouraged to allow for COVID-19 protocols.
SATURDAY
Axed - Axe Throwing Trailer is happening between 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. near the amphitheatre. No registration is required. All equipment will be sanitized between uses. Participants must maintain a physical distance of two metres while waiting in line, and must wear a mask when throwing.
All Things Canadian celebration gift bags will be given out for free starting at 11 a.m. in the booth at the amphitheatre. Gift bags will include goodies celebrating Penetanguishene’s three cultures. First come, first served.
For all live music performances, registration is required for seating within the theatre, and arriving early is encouraged to allow for COVID-19 protocols.
Musician EmRey (Emma Reynolds) will be performing live at the amphitheatre with gates opening at 3:30 p.m. and a start time of 4 p.m.
SUNDAY
Musicial group Ariko will be performing live at the amphitheatre, with gates opening at 10 a.m. and start time of 10:30 a.m.
Musicial group The Remedy perform live at the amphitheatre with gates opening at 1:30 p.m. and a start time of 2 p.m.
Musician Dylan Lock performs at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 6:30 p.m.
Events, times and locations continue to be updated as they become available, with event programming and schedules subject to last-minute changes without notice. Safety and health protocols will be in place throughout the festival. Face coverings are required in areas where two metres of physical distancing is not possible with people outside one’s own household.
