MidlandToday welcomes letters to the editor at [email protected]. Please include your daytime phone number and address (for verification of authorship, not publication). This letter is in response to story about an EDCNS board member donating to the 'Freedom Convoy.'

Dear Editor

It was with much concern that I read the article by Derek Howard in regard to the volunteer of EDCNS (Economic Development Corporation of North Simcoe) who donated $32 to the Freedom Convoy.

He also decided to mention a local business that donated $25 to said fund.

I had foolishly thought MidlandToday would be above publishing such a divisive article about one of our own citizens.

I do not know, nor have ever met the volunteer or the shop owner who have been targeted,

but believe the attempt of the article to cause division in the Midland-area is unacceptable reporting.

I personally did not make any donation and am vaxxed, but truly believe that in a free country there is room for peaceful, respectful, thoughtful dialogue .

Thank you

Elaine Yeatman
