Thank you for supporting youth in North Simcoe!

September was Big Brothers Big Sisters Month across Canada. Here in North Simcoe, we received amazing support from our community, local businesses, organizations and municipalities.

Big Brothers Big Sisters North Simcoe was all over the communities we serve! You may have seen our posters in one of over 50 businesses, our coffee sleeves on beverages from Cheeky Mama, Grounded Coffee Co. and Café Kittyhawk. We had banners downtown Penetanguishene, Elmvale and Midland that were designed by our Bigs and Littles in a joint project with Quest Art through the Town of Midland.

We had some great businesses step up with hosting some fundraisers and give-backs to us. Harvey’s, Café Kittyhawk, Dock Lunch and Pier 21 all generously donated a portion of their sales back to us for a day! As an added bonus, Sheldon East Jewelers did a 2 day ring polishing event to raise funds to send our Big/Little matches to the Blue Jays game, the theater, the ice show or whatever experience they may wish to enjoy.

We are so thankful these businesses, organizations, municipalities, and our community members see the value in youth mentoring and are helping us to provide support to our future generations! Big Brothers Big Sisters North Simcoe looks to provide youth with preventative proactive support through our 1:1 mentoring, school-based, and group mentoring programs.  Every $1 invested in youth today has a $23 return, as mentored youth are twice as likely to stay in school and graduate, and twice as likely to get a high paying job when they grow up! When we ignite their potential through community engagement, we are all Bigger Together.

Thank you to all North Simcoe for your continued support of Big Brothers Big Sisters North Simcoe, we couldn’t do it without you!
