I have read about and seen traffic roundabouts in the U.K. but I have never driven on one until this week — the one between Midland and Penetang.
As the English would say, brilliant!
We only have to get people up to speed about negotiating a circle, which hugely increases the flow of traffic at the junction, compared to stop lights. Theoretically, no one has to stop.
On my way back to Toronto, I intentionally retraced my steps so I could once more enjoy the roundabout novelty. Perhaps that's not a good thing. Don't want to attract traffic tourism.
