There are no new cases of COVID-19 reported in the region today (June 17), in fact, the case count has gone down by one.
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has removed a previously reported Bradford case from its line listing to bring the cumulative total to 115 cases in Bradford and 526 for the Simcoe-Muskoka region.
Yesterday, the health unit also removed two cases it had previously reported from Bradford. The health unit said the cases were removed because the individuals were transferred to another health unit due to their primary address. The case removed today was a workplace-related case linked to a farm outbreak, and was also transferred to another health.
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reported its first case of COVID-19 on March 10. Since that first week, the health unit has reported new cases every day except for March 17 and 26, and June 3.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has confirmed a total of 526 COVID-19 cases in the region to-date and 445 of those people have recovered.
There have been 36 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the region. There are currently 44 active cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County including five people in hospital (two in intensive care). There is one active case of COVID-19 in Muskoka District.
