As they are desert animals, they know the value of water and use sand to clean their coats.
While Gerbils usually have a plant-based diet, they will eat small insects in a pinch!
Gerbils can use their powerful back legs to jump up to 12 inches straight up. Make sure your enclosure is Houdini proof!
